The Catholic Church is in for a very hot time if they remain stuck to their inflexible doctrine. The church’s inability to make exceptions for cases like this girl is inexcusable, and will alienate thousands (if not a couple of million) Brazilian Catholics.

Organized religion, whether Catholic, Christian Judaism or Islam, seem unable to bring themselves into the 21st century and let go of the archaic decisions and doctrines that no longer apply in the modern world.

Before they go dictating to others, each religion should clean out its own closet and take a good look at what it wants to impart to its members.

”We have laws, we have a discipline, we have a doctrine of the faith,” the official says. ”This is not just theory. And you can’t start backpedaling just because the real-life situation carries a certain human weight.”

That is proof positive that they do not give a damn about human life, or suffering, they only care about their stupid doctrine.

They didn’t care if the pregnancy killed the poor little girl and the baby, what is 2 dead Brazilians compared to the doctrine? Besides, the church also have that irresponsible breading program go there so they would be replaced 10 fold in a day or 2.
(If you think this doesn’t effect you here in America, think again, the Catholic church has already bought up 2 out of every 3 hospitals and are acquiring more every day. Soon there will be no where to get any reproductive health care.)
More misery and suffering means more people turning to the church so they have a vested interest is encouraging as much over population, poverty and misery as they can muster. I must say, they have been at it for 2000 years and they have made more money than any other single entity in history so they really know what they are doing.

Must be very easy to hand down a death sentence on a 9 year old up there in one of those many palatial vacation homes that he/the church owns. Living like a king, dressed all in silk embroidered in gold, sitting on velvet cushions watching his big screen TV while the people who donated the money for him to live like that die of starvation and disease. I guess it makes it easier to sleep at night when you are laying your head down in a 10,000 dollar bed.
